Our equestrian bedding products are manufactured from virgin softwoods to the highest industry standards. Working from sustainable sources of clean and dry wood we produce bedding that offers a number of significant advantages to horse owners of all types.
Our products are biodegradable and will rot down quickly on the muck heap to create a well-balanced nutrition rich-compost. Wood shaving bedding creates an environment that helps improve rest, support hooves and reduce bruising to hocks and other joints. We supply many of Ireland’s premier horse-racing yards, show-jumping yards, and have Bord Bia product liability insurance. Our products are available in convenient moisture protected bales or as more cost effective bulk loads, starting from 6 tonnes. Bales are delivered on shrink wrapped on pallets of 36/42 units.

Wood Shavings
Specification: Our wood shavings product is produced from clean, kiln dried softwoods ensuring a consistent high quality bedding product. The shavings offer excellent levels of absorption which keeps stables fresher and cleaner for longer. Finally the shavings have low moisture content, and as they are virtually dust free create a healthy environment for all stabled horses. In line with all out wood products the shavings are made from softwoods that have been sourced from sustainable forests and are totally biodegradable.
Uses: Acadami wood shavings are an ideal bedding medium for a number of animals including horses, pigs, chickens and turkeys. The product works well in with rubberised stable mats.

Cotton Paper Bedding
We stock and distribute quality, allergy-free, cotton paper bedding from Dollar Bedding.
Specification: The cotton paper bedding, from Dollar Bedding, is a safe, ink, dust, and allergy free product made from off cuts of high security cotton paper. It provides a soft, absorbent, comfortable, warm and snowy white bed and all at a reasonable price. The paper bedding does not turn mushy, instead it forms a warm comfortable bed that always looks snowy white and is clean and tidy to use. The bales are easy to manage, handle, store and once opened look exactly like wood shavings. Dollar Bedding cotton paper bedding uses the most high quality ingredients, and has never been printed on, unlike paper bedding from other leading brands, so it is completely ink free.
Uses: This product is excellent for animals with allergies and respiratory conditions. Around 60% of horses and ponies in the UK and Ireland suffer from undetected respiratory problems and the most common is a reaction to dust and spores found in bedding and hay. The cotton paper bedding eliminates this problem! Cotton paper bedding has fantastic thermal insulation properties and has been proved to be extremely efficient at keeping your animals dry and warm.
Pack size: Each bale is 66cm long x 38cm wide x 28cm high and has a capacity of 70litres as a compressed bale. A pallet is made of 42 bales and each bale is shrink wrapped and then wrapped again in the pallet.
Wood Chip
Specification: Our wood chip product is produced from kiln dried softwoods to produce a fine and evenly sized chip that is virtually dust free. The chip has excellent levels of absorption reducing levels of ammonia and more hygienic than other forms of substrate. In line with all out wood products it is produced from virgin softwoods, from a sustainable source and is totally biodegradable.
Uses: Acadami wood chip product is suitable for use in all types of enclosure from outdoor paddocks, wood chip arenas and as deep-litter bedding. It’s a convenient and easy to use substrate that works well in a depth of 5 to 6 inches; making it an ideal walking surface for a range of animals including horses and cattle.
Pack size: Our wood chip is available in bulk deliveries only, with minimum loads starting at 6 tonnes. We have a range of lorry types which ensures prompt and convenient deliveries throughout Ireland.
Dried Sawdust
Specification: Our sawdust product is produced from kiln dried softwoods to produce a fine dust based bedding product. The sawdust grains are screened to 3mm or less which ensure excellent absorbency and which result in dry and hygienic conditions. In line with all out wood products it is produced from virgin softwoods, from a sustainable source and is totally biodegradable.
Uses: Acadami sawdust has many uses including poultry and horse bedding but is now routinely used as a bedding product on dairy farms. The dust is spread on cattle mats, mattresses or concrete cubicles. Typically only one cup full per cow mat per day is required.

Chopped Barley & Wheaten Straw
Specification: Acadami barley and wheaten straw is chopped to create a soft and highly absorbent product that holds its structure to create soft and natural bedding. The chopped barley & wheaten straw is ccompletely recyclable after use. It has many advantages including VAT-exemption .
Uses: The chopped barley & wheaten straw can be used by horse owners as an alternative to wood based bedding products. It is quick and easy to muck out and rots quickly. Forms a good dense bed and has been shown to offer comfort and prevent the hocks associated with the impact on hard floors.
The product is dust free which helps to improve air quality and a horse’s breathing. This quality product is suitable for Horses, Cattle, Pigs, Sheep, etc.
Pack size: chopped barley & wheaten straw is available in 15kg bales with pallets holding 42 bales. Acadami has its own dedicated fleet of lorries ensuring quick and convenient deliveries anywhere in Ireland.
Rubber Matting
Specification: To complement our bedding products we also supply high quality rubber stable matting that can be easily cut to size. It is very durable product with a wide rib to which facilitates animal grip and drainage. The use of rubberised matting is shown to reduce labour & bedding costs together overall animal housing bills.
Uses: Our rubber matting is an excellent flooring product. The matting is extensively used in stables, horseboxes, trailers and horse walkers. When used in conjunction with shavings It offers extra support and protection for injured or recovering animals.
Sizing: The matting comes in standard sizes of 6ft x 4ft sheets (180cm x 120cm) and are 20mm in depth.
The sheets are easy to cut and fit. Pricing is bespoke in nature and based on the total floor area to be covered. Again Acadami’s own transport guarantees a convenient and quick delivery service to anywhere in Ireland.
